Music

I'm a vocalist, and can also play the guitar for accompaniment. I have professionally played progressive/alternative rock in New Delhi (India). My major influences have been artists like Karnivool, Porcupine Tree, Rage Against The Machine, Incubus, Tool, Them Clones, Swicthfoot, Haken, John Mayer, and Steven Wilson.

Music has been more than just a passion. For me, it began right from kindergarten, when I would sing Bollywood songs from TV, without anyone nudging me to do so! I was part of the choir in elementary school, and sang a bunch of Bengali songs at various functions. The real deal began when in the 8th standard I saw our (then) school band perform on stage with all equipment such as a drum kit, electric guitars, the bass guitar, microphones, and amplifiers. That was when I was introduced to Linkin Park (every amateur's starting point!), and the whole journey began. A bunch of friends and I put together a band called The Pangeans, and we used to perform covers of artists like Green Day and Nickelback (alas, we didn't compose originals).

I then became the lead vocalist for our college band Conundrum, which we later became pretty serious about (you could listen to our samples below). We composed few originals, and won at several prestigious college band competitions like the one at Mood Indigo, IIT Bombay. This went on from 2011 - 15, after which we had to disband due to relocation of certain members.

This was one of our best compositions, 'Temporal Drifts':

This one was our latest composition, 'Where are You?':
